Cody Belew

Cody Belew

Cody Belew was raised in and around the small town of Beebe, with a population of roughly 4,000, throughout his childhood. Cody grew up singing at rodeos, in black gospel church houses, and anywhere in between that would have him. Belew attended college at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. It was there that he earned a Bachelors of Arts degree- majoring in music and minoring in Theatre. He moved to Arkansas’ capital city, Little Rock, at the request of friend Chad “Buddy” Habig. Fronted by Belew, Buddy Habig’s new band played their first show in October of 2008. Tragically, Buddy passed away, and to this day, he says that Buddy is “the Obi Wan Kenobi to my Luke Skywalker.” Buddy lives on in every performance Cody puts on.

Cody spent 4 years in Little Rock leading what had been Buddy’s band on to great success and notoriety, before making the leap to Nashville. In January of 2012, Cody was invited to audition for “The Voice.” After making it to the top 8 on season 3 of NBC’s number one show, Cody now meets head-on the task of staying relevant in the music business.

Cody just released his debut album that introduced the world to his heart and soul through pop music. When asked about the sound of this album, Cody proclaims, “I don’t want anything on this album that you won’t want to skate to. If you can’t roller-skate to this album then we might as well not do it.”
