Kristen Wright

If you were to ask Kristen Wright the one word that most describes her music, it would be: honesty. "I believe good music is true music. I only want to be honest when I write." She proves this through her autobiographical first release, "In the Year of Letting Go," a collection of songs written within one year. "The EP came out of a New Year's resolution to let go, and it really opened up my creativity." However, her story spans more than a singular year, and the EP declares a desire to share it.

That musical awareness became immensely important after a car accident in 2009. The wreck impaired her ability to play guitar, and she was forced to decide whether or not to continue with her music. The accident has shaped her life and her music in an unavoidable way. She says of the experience, “Making music is a gift I had previously taken for granted.” No longer. Today she is writing and playing with a grateful heart, and is amazed at how God is using music to refine her.

Kristen Wright’s music may best be described as honest and sung from the gut. Her voice demands your attention, while her lyrics break your heart and inspire you in the same breath. As a performer, she is able to connect with any audience by offering genuine vulnerability and passion. As a songwriter, she believes that good music is true music. This talented Nashville songstress performs with the timelessness of americana music – a quality that can only emerge out of a good story lived.
